Meet the Staff

Carrie

Carrie Feigenbaum

Camp Shelanu Director

I am so thrilled to be the camp director for Camp Shelanu this year! I have been active in the CBI community for about six years as a madricha, camp counselor, and Religious School teacher, and I’m now ready to take on this very exciting role. I am happy to return to camp for my fifth summer and bring Judaism, adventure, community, and most importantly fun to new and returning campers.

When I am not at camp, I live in Los Angeles and attend California State University, Northridge, where I received my BA in Child and Adolescent Development and am now pursuing a teaching credential. In my free time I love cooking, going to the beach, and spending lots of time in nature finding new trails to hike.

Shahar

Shahar David (she/her)

Shlicha (Israeli counselor)

My role at camp: Israel Culture Guide

Where do I live in Israel?  Rishon Le Zion

My hobbies:  I love the sea, love very much Yoga and Pilates. I just began a course of surfing.

What was my job in the army?  I was an Air Force Defense Guide. I was an executive guide, in charge of the training timetable as well as the training staff who were with me.

My favorite food: Sushi

My favorite word in hebrew: Sababa (slang meaning terrific, wonderful, great)

I’m most excited about this summer because…

I will be meeting American Jews and will convey to them my knowledge regarding Israel.  I will get to know families who will host me and they will show me around. This is my first visit to the USA.

Nate (Nathaniel) Wisham

Senior Counselor

My role at camp: Senior Counselor

My hobbies:  In my spare time I like to write, play videogames and Pathfinder with friends, as well as going on little adventures when I'm able.

My favorite food: Burgers. I know they’re bad for the environment, but I rarely drive on my own, so it balances out, kinda.

I’m most excited about this summer because…

I enjoyed working at camp so  much last summer, and I had a great time as a camper over the years.
