1st Night of Chanukah – Outdoor Community Celebration

Sunday, November 28 | In-person and YouTube Livestream

5:00 PM: Outdoor Community Chanukah Lighting | North Sanctuary entrance, corner of Riverside Boulevard and 11th Avenue

Join CBI to kick off the Festival of Lights with an outdoor community celebration! Clergy will lead singing, blessings and a Chanukah story.

2nd Night of Chanukah

Monday, November 29

5:00 PM: Congregational Menorah Lighting hosted by WBI | Memorial Room (the north foyer of the Sanctuary)

Women of B’nai Israel invite all interested women and families to join us to help light our congregational menorah. Masks are required. Yummy treats to take home! Please RSVP if you plan to attend.

3rd Night of Chanukah – Chanukah Mitzvahkah

Tuesday, November 30

6:00 PM: Chanukah Mitzvahkah | Social Hall and Memorial Room (the north foyer of the Sanctuary)

Please note: Registration to attend in-person has closed. If you would like to participate, please call our office (916) 446-4861.

Spread the light with an evening of celebration and community service. Chanukah Mitzvahkah is a B’nai Israel tradition where we focus on the importance of giving rather than receiving. It’s an opportunity for us to come together and do a mitzvah for some of the most vulnerable in our community.

Join us on November 30 to light the menorah (don’t forget to bring yours!), sing some Chanukah songs, play a little dreidel, eat some pizza and treats, and make care packages of personal items and food for the unhoused and food insecure (our goal this year is 500 bags of personal items and 500 bags of food).

Thank you to everyone who has signed up to help with Chanukah Mitzvahkah! We appreciate your generosity during these challenging times. If you haven't made a contribution yet, please consider it today! More help is needed to cover the cost of supplies to fill 500 food bags and 500 toiletry bags.
