View/Print Songs and Chants:  SATURDAY, MAY 6, 2023

Kavanah Shabbat blends traditional communal prayer and chanting of the weekly Torah parasha with song, Jewish chants, silent prayer, and moments of meditation. It’s the perfect point of focus to put reflection and gratefulness into your Shabbat, and who couldn’t use a little of that nowadays! Kavanah Shabbat services draw on teachings from the Torah, Talmud, Mussar, and Jewish meditation and mysticism to fully express Jewish spirituality on Shabbat morning.

The service will be on Zoom as well so that if you can’t come in person, you can still join us. To join in person, please wear a mask and bring your vaccination card. Singing while masked allows you to join in with the joyous melodies and chants! Those of you joining in real time on Zoom will be able to communicate through the chat, and the names of those loved ones you are praying for or remembering will be read by the prayer leader.

Services are led by Rabbi Deni Deutsch Marshall, with Elizabeth Landsberg, Steve Marshall, and Miriam Joffe-Block. Join them for approximately one-and-a-quarter hours of meaningful and connected Shabbat service.

For more information, contact the Congregation B’nai Israel office at (916) 446-4861, or email Rabbi Deni.
