CBI's Bulletin Board

Welcome To Our Digital Bulletin Board!

In keeping with CBI’s sustainability goals, we are striving to be environmentally responsible and minimize the amount of paper we produce (and then need to recycle). To help us achieve these goals, we are eliminating the distribution of paper flyers in the Sanctuary foyer. Instead, we have set up this digital bulletin board. A QR code displayed in the foyer directs people here.

All flyers approved for the Chadashot and/or Koleinu for a program open to the general public will automatically be added to the digital bulletin board. Additionally, committees and community partner organizations can use the following form to submit their flyer or graphic for posting: cbisacramento.org/form/commsrequest

Jewish Genealogical Society of Sacramento

“An Update on the Powerhouse JRI-Poland Website,” with Robinn Magid
Sunday, February 15 | 10:00 AM to 12 noon | Zoom

JRI-Poland (www.JRI-Poland.org) is the powerhouse Jewish genealogy website for the former regions of the Austrian Empire and Poland. Robinn Magid will describe new sections of the site that make research easier and more organized. Updates include Town Explorer, Project Explorer, interactive mapping, and inclusion of new sources, such as within Galician town records. There is even a new book club, launched in 2025.

Robinn Magid is the president of JRI-Poland.org and has served as a JRI-Poland town leader, area coordinator, and liaison to the Lublin branch of the Polish State Archives. Robinn’s genealogical work resulted in her being honored by the City of Lublin, Poland – her grandmother’s hometown – with a medal from the mayor for inspiring the future and cultural identity of that city of 450,000 people on its 700th birthday in 2017. Robinn has spoken at many conferences of the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies (IAJGS) and served as the chair of the 2018 conference in Warsaw, Poland, and of the 2020 Virtual Conference on Jewish Genealogy. She is a frequent speaker on conducting Polish-Jewish research. Recognizing her contributions to Jewish genealogy, Robinn has received the IAJGS Lifetime Achievement Award.

(Free) registration is required for the Zoom meeting.
