Membership

Welcome to Congregation B'nai Israel!

 

We offer several options for Membership. CBI's goal is that finances should never be a barrier to being part of our community.  

Our Executive Director will work with you confidentially to determine a comfortable financial commitment for your household. Everyone is welcome. 

To start the membership process, please complete your Membership Application and Commitment Form. You have the option to complete the online form or print the Application and Membership Commitment and submit it to the office, attention to Leslie Oberst, Executive Director.  

Note, that the Membership Commitment is not part of the approval process and is held in strict confidence with Leslie Oberst, Executive Director.

Annual Membership Commitment

  • Full Membership - Membership to CBI helps sustain our Jewish community. The suggested annual membership commitments can be found HERE. 

  • Associate Membership - This membership is for households who wish to support CBI while being a full member at another Temple.  The annual membership commitment is $575.

  • Friends of CBI Membership - this membership is available to households who live outside of the area serviced by the Jewish Federation of Sacramento Region.  The annual membership commitment of $180 provides access to members-only virtual services and programming. 

  • Gift a Membership! We invite you to welcome a relative, friend, or neighbor to experience membership at CBI through The Gift Membership Program. There is no cost to you or the Gift Member family.  If you are current in your financial commitments, you can gift a one-time annual membership to someone in the community who is seeking a Jewish home, as long as they are not also affiliated with another congregation in the area. Gifting is a way for us to introduce new prospective members to our community.
