Join Us for the High Holy Days at Congregation B'nai Israel

We look forward to sharing in the spirit and meaning of the High Holy Days with our community and guests. Whether you're attending for one service or all, in person or via Livestream, we’re honored to have you with us.

Help Us Prepare a Safe, Welcoming, and Meaningful Experience for All

As we prepare to welcome the new year, we’re asking everyone to please register in advance of services, either through the CBI Member Registration Form or the Guest Pass Registration Form. Taking a few minutes now supports a safe and sacred High Holiday experience for everyone. Badges will be printed in advance for everyone who completes the registration forms, allowing for a smooth, quick entry process.

Registration is required for all who plan to attend services in person. Your registration helps us plan with care to:

  • Ensure a secure environment for everyone
  • Understand how many people are attending each service
  • Learn how you plan to participate, whether in person or online
  • Streamline entry with pre-printed badges
  • Offer accommodations and support where needed

If you arrive without having completed the forms, you’ll be asked to go through an onsite vetting process, which may delay your entry. While no one will be turned away, completing the form in advance truly helps our entire team, including staff and volunteers, to make this experience smoother for all.

Even if you plan to attend only online — or not at all — we still ask that our members please complete the Member Registration FormThis helps us understand who to expect, ensures we don’t print unnecessary badges, and allows us to plan more effectively.

We appreciate your being part of this effort. This simple step helps us plan for the safety, comfort, and care of our entire community.

Please register by Tuesday, September 16, to provide sufficient time for printing of name badges. If you need assistance, please contact our office at 916-446-4861 – we are here to help.

Support the Central Downtown Food Basket —

A CBI High Holy Days Tradition

Every year at this time, for over three decades, our congregation has filled our foyers with donations of canned goods and nonperishable food items for the Central Downtown Food Basket (CDFB) to support their work to feed over 1800 food-insecure households in the greater Sacramento area each month.

This year, to have the most impact, we hope you will join our "TSC Campaign" and fill our foyers with donations of tuna, soup, and checks – the most needed CDFB items . CDFB’s buying power enables them to buy $2 to $3 worth of food for every $1 donated. Donations can be made by dropping off a check (made payable to Central Downtown Food Basked) in the collection boxes in our Sanctuary foyers . Bags of canned goods and nonperishable food items of all types are still welcome and encouraged. Donations can also be made on the CDFB website: www.cdfb.org.

In addition to supporting the CDFB, please consider making a donation to Congregation B’nai Israel’s Caring Community Fund to support our fellow congregants. (On the donations page, select “Caring Community Restricted Fund” in the pulldown menu.)
