It’s time for Chanukah Mitzvahkah!

Chanukah Mitzvahkah is a B’nai Israel tradition where we focus on the importance of giving rather than receiving. It’s an opportunity for us to come together and do a mitzvah for some of the most vulnerable in our community.
 
On the 3rd Night of Chanukah (Tuesday, November 30), we’ll gather together at 6:00 PM in the Social Hall to light the menorah (don’t forget to bring yours!), sing some Chanukah songs, play a little dreidel, eat some pizza and treats, and make care packages of toiletries, personal items and food for the unhoused and food insecure (our goal this year is 500 bags of personal items and 500 bags of food). 
 
There are different ways to be involved. Whether or not you plan to attend in-person, everyone is encouraged to make a contribution.

It's not too late to help! 

While the sign-up has closed to donate specific supplies from the wishlist, with this form you can: 
  • RSVP to attend and help assemble packages on November 30
  • Pre-order a pizza dinner to enjoy at the event while supporting the Confirmation Class
  • Make a monetary contribution towards the purchase of supplies

If you haven't made a contribution yet, please consider it today! More help is needed to reach the goal of having enough supplies to fill 500 food bags and 500 toiletry bags on Tuesday, November 30.

   Mitzvakah Bag Assembling - 16 of 120 Left

The following guidelines will be in place:

  • Registration will be limited to 120 people;  registration is required.
  • All persons aged 12 and older must be fully vaccinated. CLICK HERE to verify your vaccination status. Masking is required indoors regardless of vaccination status per the Sacramento County Public Health Order.
  • ​​​All food and drink will be consumed outside.
